We use LEGO in our bootcamp for team-building exercises that teach essential skills our students need in the tech industry:

- Collaboration: building together, one brick at a time

- Creative problem-solving: finding solutions when things don't fit

- Communication: turning ideas into action as a team

- Patience & persistence: because not every piece clicks on the first try

Just like coding, LEGO teaches our students that complex problems can be broken down into smaller, manageable pieces. That failure is part of the process, and the best solutions come from working together.

Our team traveled to Mutare to bring Coding & AI skills training to Hillcrest College. Watching Lower 6 and Form 2 students discover they could actually build things with code, not just use apps, but create them, never gets old.

As we step into 2026, we're filled with gratitude for every student who dared to dream bigger, every teacher who embraced new ways of learning, and every partner who believed in our mission to make Zimbabwe the tech-capital of Africa.

Last year, we watched young people from Mbare to Victoria Falls transform their lives through code. Kids in rural schools built their first games. Teachers discovered they could bring technology into their classrooms.

On Friday, we witnessed something extraordinary. Over 450 parents, guardians, and guests attended our Harare Graduation to celebrate 151 young Zimbabweans who just completed their transformation from unemployed youth to certified tech professionals.

Parents who once worried about their children's futures watched them walk across that stage with confidence. Some mothers couldn't hold back tears.

We were deeply honored to host distinguished leaders who understand what this moment means for Zimbabwe's future:

- Our guest of honor, Honorable T. Machakaira, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development, and Vocational Training
- Honorable K. Mupumhanga, Deputy Minister of Youth
- Mr. S. Mhlanga, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth

One graduate called it "the best day of my life." For those of us lucky enough to witness their journey, from nervous beginners to confident professionals, we understand why.

This week, something amazing happened.

We reached a significant milestone in Mt Darwin, training over 100 educators across three days.

The journey began with school heads from 20+ primary and secondary schools gathering to understand why digital literacy has become essential for modern education. These leaders were essentially preparing to bring these skills back to their entire teaching staff, creating a ripple effect across the district.

What made this training truly special was witnessing some teachers use laptops for the first time. Many educators who have dedicated years to shaping young minds had never used a computer. They'd been paying others to type their lesson plans and school documents.

The transformation was immediate and powerful. Teachers learned to create their own documents, build lesson plans, and even explore AI tools. The defining moment came when a school head confidently delivered an AI-generated vote of thanks, just hours after discovering what AI was.

Support from the DSi office and Mt Darwin South Constituency Development Office, including Hon. Mupamhanga's office, demonstrated true community leadership. Their consistent presence throughout all sessions showed that this isn't just about teaching computer skills, it's about dignity, independence, and empowerment.

The SDA Committee at Chomagora Primary captured it perfectly: this training impacts not just teachers, but entire school communities. When teachers no longer need to pay for basic typing services, when they can create engaging digital content for their students, and when they feel confident in a digital world, everything changes.

These 100+ teachers will impact thousands of students across Mt Darwin.

And those students will help build Zimbabwe's digital future.

In Zimbabwe, thousands of talented young people are ready to launch their tech careers, but without a laptop, they can't even begin.
