Learn more about our free tech bootcamp below.
program overview
Our free, full-time technology bootcamps are run from our Innovation Hubs, situated in the low-income communities we serve.
During the first six months, students take crash courses in Design, Software Development and Digital Marketing, before picking a skill to specialize in. They are introduced to Artificial Intelligence and are taught how to use AI to improve productivity and enhance their creativity, readying them for the technology jobs of the future.
During specialization, students are matched with a Mentor and receive soft skills, professional, and career development training.
After graduation, we work with our students to help them land internships & full-time employment.
curriculum overview
Our Bootcamp Curriculum is oriented around entrepreneurship and product / startup building. Over the first six months, students will learn hard technical skills focused on Design, Software Development, and Digital Marketing, before applying what they’ve learned to build their own digital products and software startups.
Month 1 - Onboarding
During the first month, students will learn how to teach our youth coding curriculum. Our Youth Coding program focuses on teaching kids how to code by building computer games. Our Bootcamp students will get their first exposure to computer coding during this month, and will spend the rest of the year volunteering at the nearby schools providing free computer coding lessons in the afternoons.
Not only does this reinforce the skills they’ll be learning and help our Bootcamp students develop their confidence, self-esteem, and public speaking skills, this part of our program helps instill a sense of purpose and giving back to one’s community.
Month 2 - Introduction to Design
Month 2 is dedicated to learning about Product Design. Students will learn about Design Thinking and how to use tools like Figma to bring their ideas to life.
Month 3 - Introduction to Software Development
Month 3 is dedicated to learning about Software Development. Students will learn the fundamentals of computer programming and how to use AI to write code.
Month 4 - Introduction to Digital Marketing
Month 4 is dedicated to learning about Digital Marketing. Students will learn about Design Thinking and how to use tools like Figma to bring their ideas to life.
Months 5-9 - Specialization
During months 5-9, students will specialize in one of the three tracks, Design, Software Development, or Digital Marketing.
Months 9-12 - Startup Building
During months 9-12, while continuing to specialize, students will go through our Incubator Program and work in teams to build and launch their own software startups, culminating with the Uncommon Demo Day.
Artificial Intelligence In the Curriculum
Our belief is that human workers wont be replaced by AI, they’ll be replaced by humans using AI. Technology brings abundance, and we are training our students to be AI native, and to leverage the AI tools available to them to bring their ideas to life.

sponsor a student, transform a community
Our Technology Bootcamp is a full-time, 12 month program designed to help unemployed young adults launch their technology careers. Because our goal is to focus on the young adults who need our intervention most, we work hard to eliminate all possible barriers to entry. That means we provide the physical learning spaces, the computers, the electricity, internet, and in-person instructors our beneficiaries need to be successful.
It costs us about $1,500 per Bootcamp Student. The best parts? The average starting salary for an Uncommon Bootcamp graduate is $3,600, which means your donation generates a more than 2x return in the first year alone. And - wait for it...each Bootcamp student will teach computer coding to 50+ youth from the nearby primary schools each year.
Sponsoring a Bootcamp student isn’t just about transforming one life. Your generosity impacts an entire community.
